The Department of Corrections Credit Union is a financial cooperative dedicated to providing the best possible services and benefits for the membership in a financially secure and stable environment.
Founded in 1957 by William H. Ruff, the Department of Corrections Credit Union is a not-for-profit organization established with the mission to provide financial services, products, and knowledge necessary to meet members' financial goals. The Board of Directors and the management team strive to provide an affordable source of credit in an ever changing economic environment and help educate our members to make sound financial decisions. The individual personal service and care that employees provide to our members are what distinguishes DOCCU from other institutions.
Throughout the past several years, DOCCU has come a long way in becoming a full service financial institution by expanding products and services beyond the traditional savings and loans. These products and services – checking accounts, ATM/debit cards, electronic payments & debits, just to name a few – were designed to be affordable to all members while maintaining competitive dividends on savings, checking, certificates, and IRAs. We serve approximately 11,000 members with over $65 million in assets through nine (9) branches, and 20+ credit union owned ATMs.
If you are already a member, remember - this is YOUR Credit Union! Please take advantage of all of the benefits that come with membership in the Department of Corrections Credit Union. Visit Additional Services for more information.
If you are not a member, you're eligible to join our family by being an employee or retiree of Louisiana Department of Corrections, Office of Juvenile Justice, Allen Correctional Center, Winn Correctional Center, and LaSalle Corrections. Parole Board, Pardon Board, and Prison Enterprise Board members are also eligible.
One of the great benefits of membership is that once you join, you're a member for life – even if you retire or join another employer!
